A Quality of Life consultation with HolisticalVets can help provide some insight when facing challenging decisions about your pet’s well-being, especially in the face of chronic illness, age-related conditions, a decline in their happiness and overall health, and more.

By taking the time to listen to your goals and concerns regarding your pet, HolisticalVets can help you navigate complex choices regarding general treatment options, potential interventions, or end-of-life decisions with clarity and compassion, as our focus is on providing you with the information you need to make the right decision for you and your pet.

While HolisticalVets cannot prescribe medications or make changes to your pet’s existing medications (if applicable) or make diagnoses regarding your pet since he or she was not examined in person by HolisticalVets, a virtual vet visit via our Quality of Life telehealth consultation offers a platform for:

  • Evaluating your pet’s condition and addressing your concerns
  • Engaging in conversation about your pet’s health issues, addressing inquiries related to their well-being, including potential pain, discomfort, and their overall quality of life
  • Discussing treatment goals and pain management strategies for your pet
  • Providing information on how to prepare for euthanasia when the time comes

The results can then help you understand your pet’s needs and determine the next best step for him or her, since you’ll gain insight and understanding regarding signs of pain your pet may be exhibiting, whether and how your pet can benefit from additional comfort and support, what to expect during the euthanasia process when the time comes, and more. If it is determined that your pet’s journey is nearing its end, if you opt, HolisticalVets would be honored to spend time with your beloved pet and assist him or her over the Rainbow Bridge when it’s time with our in-home euthanasia services.

Quality of Life Telehealth Consulation for Dogs and Cats

$150

(for up to 30 minutes)

Please note: If additional time is requested, a rate of $25 for every 5 minute interval after the first 30 minutes will be charged at the beginning of each interval.

You should receive an automated email from HolisticalVets titled “Appointment Confirmation” a few minutes after successfully scheduling a Quality of Life telehealth consultation. If you don’t receive this email (and if it’s not in your spam folder), please email us at info@holisticalvets.com as soon as possible so that we can assist you. Thank you.

What's included in a HolisticalVets' Quality of Life Telehealth Consulation:

  • Up to 30 minutes to cover the topics you want to talk about regarding your pet’s quality of life via a telehealth consultation with a veterinarian on a video conferencing platform
    • If more time is requested, it can be accommodated, but please be aware that additional charges will apply
  • If provided, review and discussion of your pet’s medical records, as well as any images and/or videos that exhibit concerns you may have for your pet
  • A virtual exam of your pet
  • Discussion of your pet’s health problems and his or her current condition
  • Information on how to assess your pet’s quality of life, know if your pet is exhibiting signs of pain and, if possible, improve his or her quality of life, along with what to expect during the euthanasia process when that time comes
  • Your questions answered during the appointment
  • With your consent, we will email your primary veterinarian/veterinary facility a copy of the medical records generated from the telehealth consultation (we can also send you a copy as well if you prefer)

Code of Conduct

We follow the Golden Rule (“Treat others how you would like to be treated”) and apply that rule to our interactions with both people and animals. Due to this, we greatly appreciate being treated the same in return.

Therefore, it is our policy to not tolerate any signs of disrespect, rudeness, yelling, screaming, bullying, threats, profanity, name
calling, harassment, aggression, demanding or entitled behavior, disparagement, violence, exploitation, unreasonable or excessive demands, and physical, emotional, or verbal abuse, etc. Should any of those characteristics be displayed, we will immediately end the telehealth consultation and not provide further services but will apply the charge for the consultation on the credit card provided.

Quality of Life Telehealth Consulations FAQs

HolisticalVets is committed to ensuring that your pet’s well-being is not compromised due to a lack of information. As telehealth consultations do not allow for in-person exams or diagnostics, potentially vital findings and information may go undiscovered. Therefore, any diagnoses and/or, if necessary, medication adjustments should be made by a veterinarian who has personally examined your pet.

While HolisticalVets is happy to answer a couple of uncomplicated questions that may arise outside of appointments without an additional charge, a second telehealth consultation may be recommended so that further questions can be answered in a focused setting. Alternatively, instead of a second telehealth consultation, if preferred, additional questions can be answered via email according to the following email consultation rates instead. These rates are in place to account for questions that require substantial additional time and/or research in order to provide you with the appropriate medical advice and correct information.

Telemedicine Rates:
$60 per consultation/email
1 consultation = 1 email (3 questions OR 30 minutes or less of research and email response time)
Additional questions/time will be charged at a rate of $20 per additional question or $20 for each additional 10 minutes of research and email response time)

Product Consultation Rates:
$75 per item
(for questions about diets not formulated by HolisticalVets and non-prescription supplements and medications)

Please understand that we reserve the right to discontinue/refuse service and/or cancel appointments at our discretion and at any time. If such a situation arises, we will promptly notify you through the email address you provided (or verbally if the telehealth consultation is already in session). This policy particularly applies when we feel that the standard of care for your pet cannot be met through telehealth. In those circumstances, we are unable to offer our Quality of Life telehealth consultation (your credit card will not be charged in this situation). Additionally, this policy extends to appointments that consist of behavior that go against our Code of Conduct.

If you need to reschedule or cancel a scheduled telehealth appointment, please send an email to info@holisticalvets.com. Please note that cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time will incur a $50 charge, which will be applied to the provided credit card. In cases of rescheduling, it’s important to be aware that this charge is separate from the appointment fee.

If looking to reschedule your telehealth appointment, please check our scheduler below for available days and times. In your email, please specify which available appointment slot you would like to reschedule your appointment to and once we receive your request, we’ll be sure to let you know (via email) if we can reschedule the appointment to your requested day/time. If we are able to accommodate your request, you will also receive a confirmation email detailing the new day/time.
